Bathroom leakage repair

Bathroom leakage repair keep your family safe in the bathroom

Bathroom is a wet place in the house but water leakage damages the tiles, walls and the floor of the bathroom. If the leakage is not repaired, the water dripping continuously will lead to grave damage necessitating costly repairs. In case of leakage in a bathroom located upstairs, the water will penetrate the bathroom floor to get into the downstairs ceiling of the house leading to development of water stains on the ceiling. The leaking water causes extensive damage to the hidden areas of the ceiling.

Shower, bath tub, drain, toilet and taps are some of the common fixtures which can leak in a bathroom.

A professional plumber needs to be hired for carrying out bathroom leakage repair

Shower leakage

Water leakage from the shower causes significant damage to walls and floor of the bathroom. Peeling paintwork from the wall and rotten flooring are the common signs of water damage. Damaged vinyl flooring allows water penetration to the surface underneath it. Damaged seals around the shower and rotting sealant are the common reasons for shower leakage which are replaced by the bathroom leakage repair plumber.

Toilet leakage

A toilet usually leaks at the bottom. This is dirty water right from the bowl of the toilet. The water damages the flooring of the bathroom and reaches the ceiling if the bathroom is located upstairs. Damaged wax ring is the common reason for toilet leakage from the bottom. The bathroom leakage repair plumber will remove the toilet, extract the old wax ring and install the new one. This task takes some hours to complete. Toilet leakage may also occur due to rusted or loose tee bolts which are not being able to secure the toilet tightly to the floor. The tee bolts are connected to the toilet flange. They are either tightened or replaced.

Bathtub leakage

Bathtub leakage is usually caused by a leaking faucet or tub drain. The bathroom leakage repair plumber will either repair or replace the faucet in case of faucet leakage or repair the drain assembly if the problem is with the tub drain.
